Stress Less

How can we stress less? We know stress doesn't helping the quality of our raw materials- our eggs and sperm, nor our likelihood of carrying to term. Babies often do not survive high stress environments. It can also affect the personality of the baby in a negative way. Our Stress Less program with Gemma McFall, an experienced Chronic Pain and Life Coach, focuses on postive psychology-  using your individual personality strengths to manage your life better and the stresses that come with it. This method uses the Clifton Strengths tool, and focuses on what we're good at, which makes alleviating stress much easier. Instead of focusing on our weaknesses, we rather use what you are great at already, to turn certain areas around.

  1. Week 1 - What is stress, what happens in your brain, flight, flight, freeze, what happens in your body. Open discussion about their current stresses without the need to offer suggestions. Just allowing people to be heard.

  2. Week 2 - Personality self-induced stress. Why focus on our strengths and how our greatest strengths could be our stress triggers. And how our perceived weaknesses could be our greatest strengths.

  3. Week 3 - Deep dive into our personality profiles sharing real examples with the group.

  4. Week 4 - Cognative stress Relief techniques and why these are important. Thoughts, feeling behaviour cycle and how to break this. Open discussion about challenges you face.

  5. Week 5 - Emotional stress relief techniques. Why emotional issues cause us stress, even things from the past. How to release past trauma. Becoming aware of our core beliefs and identifying which ones are causing stress.

  6. Week 6 - Lifestyle stress relief tips. Final Q and As. Discussing next steps.

You'll learn to feel less stressed and anxious and to sleep better. You'll feel happier too. 

This 10 week program teaches you:

- Ancient Eastern relaxation methods called pranayama and meditation- aka breath work.

We focus on a few meditation styles so you can choose which works best for you- that includes anapana, vipassana, Transcendental and visualisation techniques. Don’t be put off by the names or feeling you can't meditate. We make it simple to do. 

- Breathing hacks that you can do anywhere to calm down - at work, the clinic, even just before sex!

- Longer Pranayama (yogic breathing) techniques - these  improve sleep and your health in general. They slow down your respiration rate, filtering your air and making your body healthier. They will lower high blood pressure and help any respiratory issues you have. 

- Sleep- understand why we need to sleep, and what might be stopping you from going from A to Zzzz. We will use different techniques such as setting you up with a routine, massage, affirmations and journaling. 

- Self-massage - in COVID times the safest way to get a massage is to do it yourself or with your partner. We will teach you to give it short massages to yourself or each other. We focus on the feet and the head and neck. These techniques  used before bed, should make you fall asleep like a baby.

We'll show you how to easily build these new skills into your every day. So they stick! We know that willpower is not enough. Our micro-treats method is inspired by the fields of Positive Psychology and specifically experts like James Clear (Atomic Habits) and Dr BJ Fogg (Tiny Habits). 

 

By the end of the program you’ll be able to:

- Be able to cope whatever the outcome

- Improve your relationships with those around you.

This is a group program as we've found this works best. You learn from others and meet new people going through the same thing. We can do individual or couple coaching if you'd prefer.
